The Problem With Holidays : Nostalgia, As We Get Older, Those Formative Years ...
" The problem with Holidays," He muttered quietly, As we get older," He added, " Lies in dwelling, remembering, all the other holidays that have come before." He reflected upon that mysterious process by way of which such recollections were stored. It was, primarily, an emotional process. His mind, a significant part of it to be sure, seemed to link emotions in nearly endless chains, and store them throughout the entire body, bringing them out as if on display, at particular times of the year. In his minds eye, he could see them all before him, as if on parade. And he wondered, where they were, and what, pray tell were they doing right now. Most of all, He missed those friends of his childhood, those bygone days of yesteryear.
